Back in the hospital...........

So Jett continued to be very uncomfortable after we had him checked out in the emergency department. I brought him back oTuesday and told the ER doctor I wasn't bringing him home b/c there was something defintiley wrong.

He was admitted and they began running many tests. Come to find out he has "C-diff" a stomach bug that is extremely uncomfortable. They have started him on some meds and it will be a few more days before he starts getting some relief. During our stay he has already required some assistance with breathing again. This time I was in the room when he turned blue and wasn't able to move any air in his lungs. It seemed again that mucus got stuck in his lungs or windpipe. This event of course upgraded us to the "Special Care Unit". He continues to be assisted with some oxygen, mostly for when he is in pain and crying. They are limited on pain meds to use on Jett because a lot of them can cause constipation...the last thing we need is another blockage.

We were supposed to meet with the surgeon this week and discuss putting him back together but that is all on hold until he beats this latest bug. I am not sure how long we will be here, depends on how he responds to the medicines. C diff can be difficult to get rid of, its considered one of the "superbugs" that can be resistant to treatment.

  1. Liz - I can't think of one semi-intelligent thing to say that would bring comfort... but didn't want to not say anything. We love you all very much and there isn't a day that we don't pray for each of you!
