Memorial Day

Good Evening! It has been a few days since I updated the blog.

Our visit with Eric, Merry and kaleigh was great fun. Jace enjoyed almost every second :) I think we exhausted our parents by the time the crew left for Tampa on Friday. We will see them again Sunday when they return from the Bahama Cruise.

Jett misbehaved again, scared all the nurses and stopped breathing Saturday evening. They are not sure exactly what happened but believe he may have choked on thick secretions he's trying to get up from his lungs. He was moved to the more critical unit but has already been moved back. Follow-up blood work and chest X rays were all okay.

We met with a lot of doctors this past week: Surgeon, GI, neonatologist and pulmonologist. They are thinking we can have his surgery sometime early July. He had another study to see if they could clear the lower portion of intestines but were not succesful. The surgeon believes the blockage may be scar tissue although they will continue to try to flush it with mucomyst. The scarred intestine would be removed during his resectioning surgery in July. The doctor did say that the small intestines were a pretty good length. The plan now is to dilate the large colon by doing enemas frequently. The large colon has contracted and is very small so by stretching it now, they will be more successful at resectioning him...they want everything to flow easily.

Hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day!

Love
Liz and Pj

  1. Liz, I am so thankful you are able to continuue to take a positive approach to Jett's condition and care. I am also so thankful that you and PJ love that little fighter so much! I was glad to hear that Jett has already been moved back to lower level of care. He must be doing ok. Thankful that Erica Mueller is his nurse again! We know he will have the best of care with her there! We will continue to ask for God's healing miracle for Jett. There must be something REALLY special in store for Jett. Love you,Pj,Jace and Jett...Nana

  2. Ok - I think I am your official blog stalker! I checked it about 6 times today - fully knowing and understanding that your life is far too busy to update! So, I am sorry - but thought I would confess it anyways.

This is awesome news that Jett is doing better... you know they always say that the more trouble the kids are as little ones - the easier they are as teenagers... if that is the case - you and I will have a cake walk with Jett and Addie... ha ha! Addie and all her RSV and breathing issues and Jett and all his episodes making sure those nurses are on their toes!

The boys are JUST beautiful (and just to clairfy for Eric - I am talking about Jace and Jett - not him!!!)

You continue to amaze me. You are such a great mom (PJ a great dad too!) Know that we love you tons and pray for you often!!!!!
